SPECIFIC RECRUITMENT

The following is a list of the specific jobs that we are currently recruiting for. Most of them require a degree level or professional qualification plus two years experience:

Fisheries Officer, IDPPE, Angoche, (Mozambique) - (M26) To assist the Delegation's section of fisheries technology on various technical, methodological and organisational issues. Higher education in fisheries technology or High School training in fisheries technology with a higher education in extension or rural development is required. In addition, two to three years of experience in artisan fisheries extension in a developing country and the ability to work among fishing communities and participate in fishing efforts are essential. Knowledge of the Portuguese language or willingness to learn will be an advantage.
Please note that there will be other positions coming up within IDPPE in various locations in Mozambique. They are in the field of fishing technicians; social development and planning and finance.

Community Health Trainer - Medical Doctor, Indian Society for Life Development, Marathwada - Maharashtra State of Central India, (India) (I19) To develop a team of village health care workers. To enhance the technical skills of the hospital team of medical and paramedical professionals. The ideal applicants will be a qualified medical doctor with basic medical degree and some experience in clinical medicine and exposure to commmunity health. It will also be advantageous for the applicants to have knowledge of various participatory learning techniques as well as research and analytical skills

Community Management Health Trainer SOVA, India (I6) To work with SOVA staff and the local community in providing training on community health management, conducting health needs assessments in communities, preparing strategies for intervention, and involvement in the implementation of the community health strategies. A qualified doctor of medicine; At least three years of practice, preferably in community health; Willingness to live and work in a rural and remote area; Ability to drive two wheeler (motorbike) or willingness to learn; knowledge of various participatory learning techniques; research and analytical skills

Medical Doctor (General Practitioner), Angoche Rural Hospital, Angoche (Mozambique) - (M7) Angoche Rural Hopsital, serving mainly the Angoche, Moma, Liupe and Mogovolas districts requires an experienced general practitioner/doctor to improve on the quality of care provided to its in-patients and out-patients.

Community Health Trainer, Simanjiro MCH Project, (Tanzania) - (SI4/SI5/SI6) Support staff to plan, co-ordinate and deliver Mother and Child Health care services to communities, provide training necessary for staff development, support the promotion of community health initiatives, train traditional birth attendants, and support the development and co-ordination of mobile mother and child health care services. There are three positions in the following locations: Orkesumet; Nabarera and Magadini.

Occupational Therapy Tutor, School of Occupational Therapy, Christian Medical College, Tumaini University, Moshi (Tanzania) - (TZ3)To ensure continuous curriculum development to meet the needs of students and ensure it is relevant. Improve the mental health component of the course and develop teaching resources. Minimum of a diploma in Occupational Therapy coupled with at least three years post qualifying experience is required.

District Support Occupational Therapist, Kampala (Uganda) - (U2) .Working in a peripatetic role to be a professional mentor by providing a reference point for the locally trained Occupational Therapists in agreed location. Qualified Occupational Therapists with post-qualification work experience and a specialist knowledge in one or more of the following areas: mental health, neurology, paediatrics or Bobath.

General Recruitment

Under our general recruitment programme applicants may be selected against general criteria in a skill area.

Following a selection day, successful candidates are matched against specific posts, where possible. We are looking for a minimum of qualifications to HND level with at least one year's post-qualification experience.

Requests are more usually for higher level qualifications with at least two year’s experience, preferably including some training of others.

If there is no post available at the moment, but it is felt that there may be one within the next year, we may be able to place your application on our register until then.
