Our leadership development team

For each piece of work, Skillshare International identifies the best consultants or facilitators and trainers available to meet the specific requirements of the client. We use a combination of in-house and external consultants with whom we have developed a close working relationship over a number of years.

  

Amanda Khozi Mukwashi is passionate about gender equality and has extensive experience in women’s leadership training and development. Amanda joined Skillshare International in 2002 as Head of External Relations, before becoming our Head of Programmes. She is also Chair of Akina Mama, a pan African women’s leadership development organisation.

 

Amanda possesses strong leadership and management skills in international development and combating inequalities and injustices.  She is skilled in training, facilitation, communication and public speaking, and has expertise in policy development, transformational leadership, gender justice, and building partnerships for a broader constituency base for development.

 

Senelisiwe (Sneli) Fortunate Ntshangase has been part of Skillshare International’s leadership development facilitation team for several years working in sub-saharan Africa. She has also been involved in organisational diagnosis of partner organisations and developed strategies for change in Swaziland and South Africa as well as providing support and guidance to partner organisations on organisational repositioning and transformation in Swaziland.

 

Sneli, who was Skillshare International's Programme Director for Swaziland and Mozambique until early 2011, is on the Boards of Swaziland Action Group Against Abuse (SWAGAA) and Yonge Nawe, a member of Swaziland Breast Cancer Network, and a member of the Renewable Energy Association of Swaziland.

 

Mandlenkosi (Mandla) David Munyoro has wide experience of delivering our leadership development programme including aspects of developing strategic competency and personal mastery, leading the process of continual improvement, leading the process of transformation/organisational development in Kenya, India, Nepal, South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland, Mozambique, and Lesotho.

 

Mandla has developed bespoke and standard in-house leadership development programmes for delivery to middle and senior management of organisations. As the key coach and mentor within Skillshare International for supporting organisation-wide systems development based on continual quality improvement projects, he designed and delivered leadership development programmes for Skillshare International staff.  Mandla is a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

 

Julie George has been working in the social development sector in South Asia since 1979. With extensive training experience of more than two decades, she has worked with a variety of clientele ranging from community groups to senior managers and students of professional courses. She has worked with national and international NGOs like OXFAM and multilaterals such as the UN Sysem, especially UNIFEM, both at grassroots and senior management level.

 

Julie joined Skillshare International in December 2001 to set up our regional office in Asia and to develop the programme. She is currently the Programme Director for Asia and East Africa, and delivers bespoke leadership development programmes to develop the strategic leadership skills of communities, NGOs and volunteers. During 2007-2009, she was involved in supporting Skillshare International’s peacebuilding project in Cambodia.

 

Julie has served on the Boards of various organisations and is currently the Managing Trustee of Skillshare International (India) Trust that was set up in 2005.

 

David Harries worked for Skillshare International for more than 10 years in several different roles including Lesotho Country Director. He became a freelance consultant in 2007 and continues to support the delivery of our leadership development programmes.

 

David is an experienced leadership development consultant specialising in working with senior management teams on strategic visioning, systems thinking and continuous process improvement. He has extensive experience in developing and delivering leadership development programmes. David's experience includes working on conflict resolution, mentoring of senior managers and facilitating strategic change. He has received training in Next Generation Chief Executives Programme (2006), Leadership Development Programme (1999), and Influencing without executive authority (1996).

 

Michael Simmons has been a strategic change management consultant and leadership developer for more than 30 years, working extensively with chief executives, senior and middle managers, supervisors and people at all levels of the organisation, including union representatives.  He has worked all over the United Kingdom, in Northern Ireland and Ireland, in Southern Africa, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands and in Belgium.

 

During the last 15 years Michael has been the strategic consultant to major transformation programmes in the private and public sector.  These have been aimed at building high performance organisations that are able to respond effectively to the turbulence of a competitive global economy, make continual improvements in quality and productivity and build an inclusive organisation.
